Auto Windscreens is proud to be a carbon neutral business. We are part of the BP Target Neutral programme which helps reduce and offset our carbon footprint.

Certification

To gain certification, Auto Windscreens defined and measured its carbon footprint, put carbon lowering initiatives in place and then offset residual emissions through the purchase of carbon credits from BP Target Neutral. These carbon credits are issued to the latter by projects across the globe that are making measurable carbon reductions, with one credit equalling one tonne of CO2e.

Projects

BP Target Neutral purchases and retires carbon credits which are used to offset customer emissions. Certified carbon credits are generated by projects around the world that are reducing emissions. The portfolio of projects include:

Overview
The project enables the Kamiranga ceramics factory to invest in new kilns that use renewable biomass residues for fuelling its kilns such as the pit of the acai fruit harvested from palm trees as well as sawdust.

Overview
The project has helped equip nearly 400,000 low income households with biodigesters and efficient cook stoves to replace solid fuels such as wood and coal with biogas that is fed into appliances such as cookstoves, rice cookers, water heaters and lighting.

Overview
By using biogas and an efficient gas stove, women no longer spend significant time each day searching for and collecting firewood and then preparing traditional stone or clay stoves for cooking meals. This means there are greater opportunities for more productive and rewarding work and time for family.
