Staff help raise £1,100 during ‘Australia Day’
Staff from Auto Windscreens headquarters in Chesterfield and Whitstable raised £1,100 for WWF’s Australia appeal on 24th and 27th January.
According to WWF, more than 10 million hectares have been burnt in Australia’s bushfires, the equivalent of 40% of the entire UK and lives, homes, and an estimated 1.25 billion animals have been affected, including 30% of the entire koala population in mid-north coast of New South Wales.
More than 400 staff across the two sites teamed up to raise funds, by playing bingo, holding bake sales, bush tucker trials, dress down days, barbecues and a ‘guess the kangaroo’s name’ competition and sweepstake.
Russell Wilson, Head of Group Contact Centres, said: “Everyone has heard about the horrendous bushfires in Australia and we just wanted to help. Our GCC and Auto Windscreens staff are always keen to show support and get involved with charity fundraising events both close to home and global, and true to form, really got into the spirit!
“Last year, we collectively raised £6,911 for good causes and we’ve now got 2020 off to a great fundraising start!”
