Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire-based technicians set out to prove they’re ‘Clearly the Best’

Monday, 4 Jul 2022

Our annual ‘Clearly the Best’ competition begins on Tuesday 5 June with six technicians from Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.

Lloyd Cullen, 43 from Margate, Chris Blasche-Neary, age 42 from Horsham, Lewis Knight, 23 from Gillingham, Nick Hill, 39 from Rochester, Tom Court, age 40 from Oxted and 45-year old John Beer from Lugershall, Hampshire, will be taking part in one of the four regional heats, with theirs taking place on 5-6 July at Auto Windscreens’ service centre in Horsham, West Sussex.

With a combined 40 years’ experience between them, the group will be assessed on the key skills required to be a high-performing windscreen technician, including technical knowledge, customer service, health and safety, an Advanced Driver-assisted Systems (ADAS) calibration, quality of workmanship and, for the first time, Environmental Social and Governance aspects of the role. The finals will be on Thursday 8 September at the company’s training centre, at its headquarters in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

James MacBeth, Auto Windscreens’ Managing Director, said: “It takes a great deal of hard work for our technicians to get to the stage of entering ‘Clearly the Best’ involving years of experience, completing work to the highest standards and significant training to make sure skills are constantly updated. We’re rightly proud of our world-class technicians and the excellent customer service they provide, and this is our way of celebrating and recognising the best of the best. Good luck to all the technicians!”
