Leading the Way in Safety with REACH Training for Our Team
At Auto Windscreens, we're proud to lead our industry, and we've taken the initiative to ensure that the appropriate colleagues have undertaken Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) training for its use of polyurethane.
Urethane used in the windscreen replacement process contains diisocyanates, and REACH training is required under EU regulations to improve protection of employees and the environment and ensure it’s handled safely.
In our unwavering commitment to the safety of our team and the environment, we have been working alongside our urethane provider, Dupont, to undertake this crucial training with ISOPA, the European trade association for producers of diisocyanates and polyols, the main building blocks of polyurethanes.
Sean Draycott, Auto Windscreens’ Operations Director, said: “We take the health and safety of our team extremely seriously. We’re delighted that all colleagues who use urethane or its packaging in our business, including technicians, apprentices, area managers, supervisors, trainers and the stock team have completed this training. As well as the correct use of chemicals, it also covers disposal of chemicals and PPE usage.”
